Magnet Information

At Midway Elementary School, academic and artistic excellence for students is the priority. A Magnet School Assistance Program Grant provides the funding to implement a premier program that includes a new fine arts integrated curriculum and the expansion of the current magnet offerings. The new facility opened in January 2010, and is now able to accommodate additional out-of-zone students interested in attending the magnet school.

Students at Midway Elementary School of the Arts are achieving excellence both in the classrooms and on stage. Unlike traditional public elementary schools, Midway Elementary offers:

  • Ballet studio

  • Band suite

  • Orchestra suite

  • Vocal Music suite

  • Art studio for 2-D and 3-D exploration

  • Full performance stage

  • Black Box theater

  • Outdoor amphitheater

  • Career and Creativity Lab

  • TV production studio

Transportation will be provided to all students who reside more than two miles from the school. All elementary school students residing in Seminole County are eligible to apply to Midway Elementary School of the Arts.

Application Period

Students may apply for the next school year during the application period. Applications are accepted all year for inclusion in the waiting pool for the current school year.

Students who complete fifth grade at Midway Elementary School of the Arts have the opportunity to continue to pursue their interest in arts and communication at Millennium Middle School Fine Arts and Communication Magnet
